Losing Nails and Finding Nemo

Friday was a sad day for me. I broke a nail at work, right down to the nub. In a moment of insanity that night I decided to cut all my nails off. I regret it now but hey, they will grow back, right? (No seriously....they will grow back? RIGHT?! I was cheered up Friday after work by the arrival of my order from Indie Polish. Indie Polish out of Toronto Canada! I am always super hyped to try out Canadian made products and this was no exception.

I am new to the world of indie polish makers (this was my very first indie purchase!) but it is definitely something I am interested in. The range of glitters and holos available by independent crafters is mind-boggling at times!

I ordered a bunch of Indie Polishes (which I will be showing off here over the coming weeks) and Finding Nemo was the polish I HAD to try first. It is an amazing mix of blue and orange micro glitters in a clear base. It would give full coverage on its own with 3 coats but I chose to start with an undie of Orly Witches Blue. The Orly is darker than the blue glitter in Finding Nemo which I loved as it gave an awesome depth to the glitters.

Application was a dream and I am in LOVE with this polish. I can't wait to try more from Indie Polish! You can check out her Etsy shop here and be sure to follow her on Facebook, as she posts about specials and deals on her awesome creations.

Julep Ginger

I am in love with the idea of holographic polishes. I need to add more to my collection. This is my first holo by Julep.
Ginger is simply described as a "sand holographic" by Julep and it certainly doesn't disappoint. It is a lovely warm color -perfect for summer!- and has an amazing holographic flash.

This is two coats of Ginger with Seche Vite topcoat. I wish Julep would make more holographic polishes. It is so on trend right now and so much fun to wear!

If you haven't heard of Julep before...where have you been hiding? Julep is a great company out of Seattle that specializes in nail products but are also branching out into other beauty products. They offer a really fun "Maven" program, where you fill out a quiz to determine your style profile and you can sign up for their monthly box subscription. 19.99 per month (and FREE SHIPPING in US *and* Canada!) and you get an amazing assortment of new products before they are released to the general public. Whats more, you can use the code FREEBOX to get your first box FREE! I will be reviewing lots of Julep products in the coming weeks. I love their polishes! If you are interested in signing up for your first FREE box, click here and remember to use the code FREEBOX when you check out! Enjoy! ♥

Purple-Xing

Nina Ultra Pro is a brand that doesn't seem to get much love. With all the amazing choices out there, I can see why. Nina doesn't have an amazing ad campaign and their online presence is virtually nonexistent. One of my favorite things about Nina Ultra Pro is the brush. Its extra wide and works like a dream!

I find Nina Ultra Pro polishes to always be consistently good, great application, quick drying time, and the colors are always vibrant and true-to-shade. You can buy Nina polishes at Sally Beauty.
Purple is not a favorite color of mine, but when I saw Purple-Xing by Nina Ultra Pro, I had to have it. Its slightly sheer but filled with an abundance of different sized holo glitters. I love to wear it over top of a base of Nina Ultra Pro Purple Pizzazz. This is 2 coats of Purple-Xing over 1 coat of Purple Pizzazz, and finished with a top coat of Seche Vite. I always get tons of compliments on this mani. I have a hard time not staring at my own nails myself!

Mothers Day Prezzie

My first manicure posted and..its NOT glitter!  This is a joke, right?

Actually, no, it isn't.  My lovely kids bought me these 2 colors for Mothers Day.  I decided to put them to use.  This is Quo By Orly in Green Meadow and Crushing on You.  Both are jellies and pictured is three coats to achieve opacity.  Went on like a dream.  Top coat with Seche Vite of course!

Welcome!

My name is Kay and I am a polish addict.  I am a married working mom, beagle lover, and kitty momma.  I might also be pushing 40, but that doesn't stop me from loving everything fun and glitter-filled.

I plan on sharing my (daily) manicures and any tips, tricks, deals and reviews I find interesting and share-worthy.

Thanks for dropping by my wee corner of the very crowded polish world! ♥
